Funded through private donations, this monument stands as a reminder of the tragic losses of life and the inspiration, heroism, and lessons learned from September 11, 2001.

The memorial's design utilizes the sun to reflect words and thoughts of Arizonans who were directly affected by the events of 9-11. The memorial will also display a fragment of World Trade Center Tower 1.
