Pulling Strings
Pulling strings is what the Great Arizona Puppet
Theater does best. Since 1983, this small non-profit organization
celebrates Arizona's culture, heritage, and ecology through the art
of puppetry. From writing and directing shows to designing and
building puppets and sets, master puppeteers create a magical world
for the young and young at heart. Whether manipulating hand puppets,
rod puppets, or marionettes, they are true control freaks in the
most entertaining sense of the term.
The great Arizona Puppets Theater sets the stage for
entertainment, performing 400 shows a year at their historic home
site on Latham Street in downtown Phoenix. They also have an
extensive touring schedule, delighting audiences at schools,
libraries, malls, festivals, and homes. Their repertoire of 50 shows
includes classic fairy takes, original stores, and educational
programs.
